Pilates is an excellent form of exercise for all ages.
Pilates promotes -
Longer, learner muscles.
Core strength, flexibility and endurance.
Improved balance, coordination and posture.
Heightened mind-body awareness.
Joseph Pilates, the creator of this form of exercise, defined physical fitness as, "the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure."
Exercises done in Pilates class are executed on a mat using a fitness circle and foam roller accessories to customize the workout. Sasha Tretter's Pilates approach focuses on correct technique through body placement, breath and correct movement from the abdominals. Many students feel results after 10 sessions. Comfortable clothing and bare feet or socks are recommended this class.
